Exploring Tirumala...

Tirumala is famous for its beautiful golden temple and the enchanting idol of Lord Venkateswara Swamy.  Getting to see the Lord by going through the long queue line winding across the temple is a wonderful experience.  The prasadams offered after the darshan are very tasty and the most popular among them is the tirumala laddoo(a sweet) which is worth a god's gift.

Besides the temple there are other places to explore.  The SV museum is a place where you can get a glimpse of the culture and tradition of the south.  The place is filled with a variety of idols, beautiful art pieces and bundles of historical knowledge.

The place transforms into a beautiful landscape during early monsoons and early mornings.  The view of the huge forest floor from the hill top meagerly covered with clouds gives a pleasure to the eyes.

There are two small dams, Akasaganga and Papavinasanam dams, not far from the temple.  They are worth seeing along with a few small temples spread across the hill top.  There is even a waterfall known as Chakra Teertham waterfalls.  It is a small but a beautiful waterfall in its own way.  One can have a look at the giant windmill near the Sainik nivas guest house which is one of the many windmills present on the hills.  Near the windmill is a spot where you can get to the edge of a cliff and get a glimpse of the wonderful forest cover of the Tirumala hills
